Now for some GotG news...

A synopsis of the plot for Guardians of the Galaxy has been released, revealing that it's about "...a U.S. pilot who ends up in space in the middle of a universal conflict and goes on the run with futuristic ex-cons who have something everyone wants."

No offense Marvel Studios...'cause you know I love you...but this sounds vaguely familiar...

To be fair, the Guardians appeared in comics long before Farscape, (and I'm not saying the show wasn't a variation on the theme) but it sounds like you're now making a variation on the variation...so to speak.

The main difference is that in the comics, a future version of Vance Astro (along with the other Guardians) came back to the present to help the Thing with something, which caused a split in the space-time continuum thus creating the alternate timeline in which the Guardians of the Galaxy existed.

Granted, this plot is more confusing to the movie-going audience than what you've got planned, but tread carefully - the last thing you guys need is another lawsuit.
