Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: "The Singularity" (WTF? Friday...4/29/2016)

I know I've stopped reviewing this show regularly, but this latest episode had me pulling some hair out...
What was Fitz doing with that briefcase?
The only reason he and Simmons were at the party was to meet that British doctor dude from Four Weddings and a Funeral. And the only reason they hat a shot at meeting the doctor was because of the tech in the briefcase. Tech that the Delphine Courtney knock-off offered to take to the doctor for them - defeating the purpose of meeting the doctor. So why would Fitz leave the briefcase on the other end of that sofa to talk with Simmons? That "robot-woman" could have just taken it. Or had someone else take it.

When did Inhumans trump HYDRA?
One of the biggest mistakes of this show was the exclusion of all things Mutant. I understand that FOX had/has the rights to the word (which makes no sense to me whatsoever), but instead of tapping Marvel's gold mine of corrupt businesses, twisted doctors and crime families to bring various villains to life, AoS went the alien route. Which would have been okay, given the hundreds of alien races in the Marvel Universe. But they didn't introduce the Watchers...or the Badoon...or the Dire Wraiths. They limited themselves to the Kree and the Inhumans.
That not only closed the door on introducing other "altered-human" races like the Eternals, they shoved HYDRA - the main purpose for S.H.I.E.L.D.'s existence in the first place - completely aside. So much so that we didn't even get to see Coulson's team finish off HYDRA's infrastructure in any way

Daisy
After three years of making her a known character...and a badass...they made her evil.

W...T...F...?

Then there's the other crap, such as:

  • the ridiculousness of making that Australian dude an Inhuman version of Gambit
  • the fact that Coulson's team had a good idea (contacting the female Inhuman) that the baddies beat them to...AGAIN
  • the stupidity of Lincoln's suicide vest. Instead of being full of bombs meant to kill him, why not water balloons?
Which brings me to the big one :
  • while everyone's focused on creating a 'cure' for Inhumanism, no one's thought about ways to neutralize their individual powers. I'm not saying S.H.I.E.L.D. has to be Batman, but if something's going around turning Inhumans evil, and you've got Inhumans on your team, brainstorming ways to turn off the abilities of those around you just makes sense. There's enough brain and mechanical engineering savvy between Fitz, Simmons and Mack to make it happen.
You can't tell me Xavier and Scott don't have plans in place if Hank, Bobby, Kitty or Logan went rogue.
Just sayin'...

Monday Movie Roundup...4/25/2016

Hey Pepe...what did I miss?
What?
Batman v Superman made another $5.5 million over the weekend? Istill among 10 top grossing films of the weekend? And is over $851 million worldwide?

What else did I miss...
Deadpool's still in theaters?
And was the 15th top grossing film in the U.S. over the weekend - despite making all of $685,000?
Waitaminute...
that means that Deadpool has made over $760 million worldwide.
That puts it as the top grossing Mutant/X-Men film of all time!!!
Damn...

This is too much for me. Plus, I gotta go get ready for work this morning, which sucks because I wanna talk a bout this some more. Darnit!

Thanks for the update Pepe and have a good week!

THIS F**KING SUCKS!!!

A world of never ending happiness...
U can always see the sun...
day...
or night...

Why, James Cameron? WHY?!?!? (WTF? Friday...4/22/2016)

I've said this before, and I stand by it:
 This guy is a cheater.
It's not enough that fans willingly spend money on quality entertainment.
It's not enough that fans go back to see a film in theaters several times - because it's that good.
It's not enough that certain studios know what they're doing, and continuously produce record-breaking films...
 ...without multiple releases...
Nope. This guy's out for blood - by giving us three sequels that NO ONE'S BEEN ASKING FOR!

W...T...F...?

There was a lot of talk about ol' George losing his mind after Phantom Menace, and even more when he sold it all to Disney. That talk's quieted down quite a bit, and I'm okay with that...
...but it's time to focus that attention in another direction.
Pocahontas Avatar was a hit because it was "pretty". The story was repetitive drivel (according to many reviews, because I've never seen it and I never will), but the effects are what pulled people to theaters. Okay, fine. But what's Jimmy gonna do for Parts II-IV? Smell-o-vision? Vibrating seats? Specially designed drive-ins that generate earthquakes on cue?
EXACTLY!!!
Titanic was an epic film. Aliens was perfection. The concept behind the Terminator franchise was brilliant (and yeah, it's has it's setbacks, but I'm not pinning that on Cameron). So the guy had talent, but ever since Avatar he's gone off the deep end. And this news about upcoming sequels is just his lashing out against the popularity of "other people's stuff".
Don't bother Pepe. Just stay home. Trust me.
f**kin' cheater...

Monday Movie Review...4/11/2016

Hey Pepe...

So how'd Weekend #2 go?
Well,it sank over 54% from last weekend's numbers, making only another $23.4 million. This brings it to just under $296.7 million so far, but that's a domestic total. Internationally, the film has made $486.8 million to date. Making the worldwide total about $783.5 million in 17 days.
Now - whether you see that as a good thing...
...or bad...is up to you.

Either way, BvS:DoJ is the #1 film featuring Superman...ever...and the #1 film featuring Wonder Woman...ever...and a mere $301.3 million from becoming the #1 film featuring Batman
...ever...

Interesting side note:
We know this is Henry Cavill's top grossing film worldwide,
and we know it's Ben Affleck's as well,
 but how about Gal Godot?
Turns out BvS is the second top grossing film in her career. What's #1?
By about $5 million.
Yep, I'm right there with ya...

Have a good week!
