And Hope is the daughter of Michael Douglas' Hank Pym?
And there's this Yellowjacket guy who's a villain?

What the Hell?
Why couldn't they have had Hank Pym create the particles in the '70's or whenever (with Van Dyne funding) and put the stuff on ice only to have tech-savvy Scott Lang (who was a fan of Pym's and knew about the particles) steal them (from a S.H.I.E.L.D. safe house no less) to rescue his kidnapped daughter? After finding out what happened, and learning how Lang used the particles in ways Pym never imagined, Pym tells Lang to "keep the suit".
MAN that would have been a cool movie!
