So...um...Sub-Mariner huh?

So there's been some talk.
Legendary Pictures, which helped make DC films (The Nolan Batman Trilogy, Jonah Hex, Watchmen, and Man of Steel) as well as independent comic films ( both 300 films) has split it's ties with Warner Bothers and has teamed up with Universal Pictures.
Which in part explains the Godzilla remake/boot.
But it seems there's another nerdy film on the horizon...
...and it ain't Aquaman.
According to Feige, Universal owns the movie rights to Namor, the Sub-Mariner. And with The Incredible Hulk under their belt, and Legendary Pictures in cahoots, there's a possibility of a Namor film in 2016.
I'm a little skeptic about this.
Not that I don't think it's a great idea. Granted, the fact that every movie production company in Hollywood has finally accepted what people like me have been saying for decades and is now desperately scrambling for comic book movie rights is somewhat silly. That's not what bothers me.
What bothers me...
...is cohesion.
That is what Stan Lee truly brought to the table. The mere fact that you could read Punisher meeting Bullseye at Ryker's...in a Daredevil comic (Daredevil (Vol. 1) #181)...set Marvel apart from DC back in the day, and had every publisher since try to create that 'common world' vibe.
So now there's talk of yet another movie production company working on making yet another Marvel based film.
I'm still convinced that somewhere down the road, either just in Feige's mind or on paper somewhere, there's a plan in place to get all these characters from all these companies together for an Avengers type film...and then go back to their separate franchises. It's never been done before...
...which is kinda Marvel Studios' stock-in-trade...isn't it?
