Let's do this. For the record - I'm in official "wait and see" mode. Here's why:
First of all, that was Elastigirl from The Incredibles at the mike. (GOOD)
I get the gist that they're using Superman's battle with Zod as the catalyst for Bruce Wayne to (what looks like) bring Batman back from retirement - explaining why Bruce looks significantly older than he should. (GOOD)
As for the family on the roof, you have to understand that Superman shouldn't need anyone to paint a message that they need his help. He'd hear them. Then there's the disaster of the flood itself. If it came from a broken dam, he could have stopped it from happening. If it was an act of nature, couldn't he just evaporate the water with his heat vision? And why would he just hover there and look? He'd act. (BAD)
Martha Kent has a point. Kal doesn't owe the Earth anything. In this franchise, Clark didn't don the cape because he set out to right wrongs - he got the suit after learning about his history, but wore it in public after Zod's address (which should have been the catalyst for Bruce to suit up again). It also looks like Bruce had a run-in with Joker that forced him into retirement in the first place. (GOOD)
Superman meets Lex, and kneels before him. WTF? Gotta be because he has someone (most likely Lois) hostage. I also think that his going down into the tunnel with the soldiers kneeling before him was on his way to meet Lex. (BAD)
We're going to get Bruce's origin. AGAIN! (REALLY BAD)
We're going to get Wonder Woman. FINALLY! (REALLY GOOD)
What's with the soldiers wearing The Symbol for Hope? (BAD)
Aaaand Lex has kryptonite. Which explains why Bruce fights Kal, because he goes wonky after exposure to the kryptonite after kneeling before Lex. F**K! (BAD)
I hope this film has a more positive feel than MoS, or it could be DOA.
