Kevin Feige revealed Marvel Studios' film schedule through May of 2019...
...that's right - 2019!
I'll be 47 years old!
Anyway, Feige explains that what's happening here, in 2014, in the MMU is the blueprint for their 5-year plan. That is - one sequel, and one "original" (i.e. Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Guardians of the Galaxy), to come out each year. Not a bad plan...except that it means only two Marvel films a year. But let's take a closer look at said schedule:
- Guardians of the Galaxy: August 1, 2014
- Avengers: Age Of Ultron: May 1, 2015
- Ant-Man: July 17, 2015
- Captain America 3: May 6, 2016
- Untitled Film: July 8, 2016
- Untitled Film: May 5, 2017
- Untitled Film: July 28, 2017
- Untitled Film: November 3, 2017
- Untitled Film: July 6, 2018
- Untitled Film: November 2, 2018
- Untitled Film: May 3, 2019
I see a snag...there's three films slated for 2017. Given the gap between 2017 and next year's Avengers 2, one of those three slots (most likely May 5th) will surely be Avengers 3: The Infinity Gauntlet...or whatever the hell they call it.
Setting that film aside, if we take Feige's plans to heart, I think we're looking at the following:
Doctor Strange: July 8, 2016
Avengers 3: The Infinity Gauntlet: May 5, 2017
Guardians of the Galaxy 2: July 28, 2017
Black Widow: November 3, 2017
Thor 3: July 6, 2018
Black Panther: November 2, 2018
Blade: May 3, 2019
I truly believe we'll hear more about this soon, but in any case...
In Marvel Studios I Trust
