Not a bad picture, but...
*One of the best things in X-Men: The Last Stand was Kelsey Grammer's make-up. Between that look and Grammer's signature voice, I totally bought Hank McCoy. Also fun to watch were the Grammer/Jackman interactions. Now, having said that...
* One of the worst things in X-Men: First Class was Nicholas Hoult's make-up. Seriously? It looked like a bad Halloween mask. The director and camera people knew it too, because after the initial reveal, it was all quick-cuts and shaky-cams.
W...T...F...VAUGHN?
* Now, this look works - kinda/sorta. Maybe I've seen too many werewolf films, but one of the things that makes Beast so interesting in the books is the fact that McCoy has an intelligent, scientific mind in the body of an NFL Defensive Lineman. Hank's a big guy. Grammer's a big man, and with the blue fur looks like McCoy. Hoult is also a big man, but has a lot less bulk. I'm not saying he can't act the part, but after Hank took the serum in First Class, the make-up/SFX departments should have added a good 50 pounds to the man so Hoult could look the part. I'm not seeing the bulk on this cover, so to me he just looks like a blue lycanthrope. The pose, however, works.
