Quick thought on Daredevil Season 2...

Wouldn't it be cool if somewhere during Season 2 there's an episode that is done completely from DD's perspective, followed by the same chain of events told from Frank's POV in the next?

Or maybe they'll split one episode in half, with it ending when they meet.

THAT would be cool.

Monday Movie Roundup...12/28/2015

Happy Holidays! - wait...
Happy Holidays!
Let's see how it's doing.
Here, it's made over $544.5 million. Outside the States, it's made about $546 million. That puts it over the $1 billion mark worldwide.
In just 10 days.
And guess what?
It beat Phantom Menace to the top grossing spot of the franchise.
And it's Mark Hamill's top grossing film of all time. Certainly more than The Little Mermaid.

Have a good week everybody!

First Impressions - Arrow: "Legends of Today"

This is by no means a deeply intense dissection of the episode.
It's just my quick comments and notes after seeing the episode only once.
Spoilers ahead.
You've been warned...

Season 4 Episode 8: "Legends of Today"

The Good:
Who else could reference MC Hammer and Genesis? Answer: NOBODY!

Never was a big fan of Olicity...glad they got rid of that.

The Bad:
What? They didn't get rid of that?
(sigh...)

The WTF?:
I'm in favor of the Hawkpeople, but daylight? On Arrow?

Why wouldn't Vandal want to kill Malcolm?

So...how did Felicity play it exactly?

Adorkification Moment:
Thank you DC/CW...for that wonderful reference.

Damn straight!

Dan Jurgens shoutout? Points!

First Impressions - Jessica Jones: "AKA Smile"

I know s#!t about this character.
Everything I do know came from blogs and YouTube.
You've been warned...

Episode 13: "AKA Smile"

The Good:
So...he's okay then? Cool.

The Bad:
Jessica Jones takes place after Daredevil? Thanks for waiting until the last damn episode to tell us that.

The WTF?:
He doesn't become purple right before the end?

And where the hell is S.H.I.E.L.D. in all this? All these unexplained killings would be right up their alley. Especially if they did AoS the way it should have been done.

Adorkification Moment:
About. Damn. Time!
But there's argument that Killgrave (and Tennant's portrayal of him) was too good to end, and they're right. But whomever's in charge of doling out Marvel characters for real-life portrayals just couldn't handle letting Killgrave wind up in The Vault (or God forbid The Big House) so they had Jessica kill him. Given how powerful he was, his death makes sense...

...however...
Wouldn't it have been cool if Loki (who's pretending to be Odin) found out about Killgrave (through Heimdall) and had Lorelei (last seen taken back to Asgard by Sif in AoS) return and bring Killgrave to Asgard as her prisoner?
Think about that for a sec - a man who has the power to control anyone, under the control of an Asgardian who has control over men.
THAT would be awesome, and something Marvel Studios would never think of, let alone allow. Why?
Because they're stupid.

Monday Movie Roundup...12/21/2015

You knew this was coming...
...so how'd it do?
Well, it made about $517 million worldwide.

But let's take a look at the franchise as a whole:
At $517 million, The Force Awakens has already made more than Empire and Jedi did in their entire runs ($457.3 million and $418.4 million respectively). Now for some bad news...
Phantom Menace is still the franchise's top money-maker, with $983.6 million worldwide.

I know Vizzini, I know...
But if my math is right, Force Awakens is only about $466.6 million away from taking the crown away from that atrocity to all mankind - and it hasn't even been out seven days yet.

On a side note, I had no idea the guy who plays Poe, Oscar Isaac, is playing Apocalypse in the next X-Men film. Holy Crap!

And another thing...
I did my best to stay in the dark regarding film details, and I did a pretty good job of it. So I had no idea that was coming when I stepped into the theater. But as that scene progressed, I knew it was going to happen.
Still think it sucked.

Have a good week everybody!

First Impressions - Jessica Jones: "AKA Take a Bloody Number"

I know s#!t about this character.
Everything I do know came from blogs and YouTube.
You've been warned...

Episode 12: "AKA Take a Bloody Number"

The Good:
Killgrave going onstage to test the range of his abilities?

The Bad:
This sucks. I get it - it shows another expansion of Killgrave's abilities. Still sucks.
I will say that the fight was borderline terrifying. I'm surprised by Luke's strength - I don't remember him being that strong. But an indestructible man fighting a super strong woman who has no invulnerability was eerie/cool to watch.

The WTF?:
Jessica's had a thing about doors the whole series.
I think this is the first time she actually unlocks one, but why? I mean, the window's broken, so why bother locking it in the first place? While I'm on the subject on her apartment, I never saw a dishwasher (which I guess doesn't really matter, since she doesn't have dishes) or a laundry room (which should matter, since she does in fact wear clothes). Can you imagine her taking her laundry to a laundromat? With all the rips, the tears, the blood? How's that work?

Adorkification Moment:
Purple lights!!!
