Well, it's about damn time.

What was DC/WB thinking by prolonging the wait before this announcement? Fan reaction to the speculation? 

I don't know much about this character other than he's the Bizarro to Billy Batson's Ca-...sorry...Shazam and can rip a man in half with his bare hands, but I'm glad Johnson's playing him instead of Billy. Not because Johnson couldn't act like a 12 year old, but because it would look over-the-top silly if he did. I also think The Rock can pull off "likeably evil", which I guess makes him DC's answer to The Punisher?

In any case, good casting choice DC/WB. Just don't forget other important things - like script and plot.
