Monday Movie Roundup...9/2/2013

No new comic films came out this weekend, but...
...2 Guns is at $72.6 million worldwide...
...Kick-Ass 2 is at $49.7 million...
...and The Wolverine has reached $358.2 million.

Very, very impressive.

Since I'm in a movie state of mind, I wanted to mention the next big comic film...
...and ask the question: "What is Thor: The Dark World bringing to move the MMU forward?"
Iron Man 3 was the first film of the MMU's "Phase Two", and we learned a few things:
* A.I.M. exists
* The Mandarin does not
* Iron Patriot is lame
* War Machine is not
* Tony made a bunch of suits then blew them up
* He doesn't have the shrapnel near his heart anymore
* Extremis exists
and most of all,
* Pepper has Extremis within her and now has super powers.

Quite a bit in Tony's personal life, but not a lot for the Marvel Movie Universe as a whole.

My hope is that T:TDW brings more to the table.
More of the nine realms explored, more Asgardians, a better explanation of exactly how Thor made it to Midgard in The Avengers, and a post-credit teaser that actually references the next MMU film...
In Marvel Studios I Trust
