Spoilers...The Hulu Show...

So I caught Spoilers with Kevin Smith on Hulu and just HAD to comment...

First, I like the idea - Kevin takes a bunch of people out to see a movie and then they all talk about it.

Cool.

The problem? Too many people. Kevin spends most of the time running around (which he can't do by the way...) sharing the one microphone they've got.

Crazy.

Either a) give everyone a wireless clip-on, or b) have only ten people.

Second, the guest stars. Here, there are two - Jason Mewes as part of the audience, and Carrie Fisher as the "special guest".

I liked seeing Jason and Kevin together again, but it took away from the main concept...the average movie-goer's opinion. One way to change that is to just take Jason to see the film, which changes the entire format, or separate him from the group, and get his opinion in another segment.

As for Carrie Fisher, wouldn't it have been nice to have had her see the film, and then talk about it? If the idea is to have a "special guest" that has some connection to the film rather than been in it...or at least seen it...the show should be an hour long and have the interview in another, separate segment.

I will say that the "guest throne" is awesome, as well as the explanation for its existence.

Third, the "Criterion" segment. Shameless plug, since this show is paid for by Hulu, but getting Kevin to talk about a specific film in the collection and how it influenced him as a director was well done. It is its own segment and should stay that way.

And finally, the cartoon. W...T...F?  It was funny, I'll give it that, but the intro to the thing I could do without ever seeing again!
