I have this issue.
Vindicator is carrying Judd as they fly back to Canada from New York (since the Omniship was destroyed in Alpha Flight #34) . During the voyage home, Judd
confesses that he’s not thrilled with her becoming a super hero. He also
apologizes for letting his feelings for her get in the way. When they arrive,
they find Snowbird’s husband, Doug Thompson, waiting outside the infirmary.
Snowbird lies within, strapped to a table and screaming in pain. Heather starts
trying to comfort her when the goddess starts to shapeshift. Judd knocks
Heather out of harm’s way as Aurora
sedates their patient. The sedative doesn’t last long, and Judd witnesses more
of Snowbird’s pain-induced transmutations when Shaman arrives, looking
completely different.
Notes of Interest:
1) Heather doesn’t react one way or the other about Judd’s confession
and the lack of response is duly noted.
2) Judd learns that Snowbird and her longtime partner Doug
Thompson were recently married.
WTF? Moment: Judd
finally tells her how he feels, and Heather doesn’t say anything? I call B.S. on that. He’s been there for her ever since
her husband died. She knows it. Why can’t she talk to him? I’m not saying she should have feelings for him, but she
should have at least told him how she feels about getting involved with anyone.
I’m not a big fan of angst, but I understand it has its place in storytelling.
Enough is enough! Get Judd a girlfriend already and let’s all move on.
