It's getting closer, but that $2 billion spot is still out of reach.
But, TFA been out 38 days and has yet to leave the top ten grossing films of a given weekend. It's at $1.9 billion right now, and I'm surprised to see that the U.S. only makes up 45.7% of that, with $879 million. Of the rest of the world, the United Kingdom brought in the most ($173 million) which doesn't surprise me that much. But in second place (with $114.2 million)? China.
That's right. China. That surprises me.
Germany's third, with $103.5 million. France contributed $85 million, and Japan rounds out the top 5 with $80 million. Even the UAE got into it, giving up just shy of $6 million to the cause.
