Morning Pepe!
A miracle happened during this past week.
TFA made over $764.4 million in the States.
Why such a big deal?
Because until now Avatar had the previous record at $760.5 million, and Avatar sucks.
You heard me.
I've never seen it, and I never will. When I want to see a cool movie about invasion and ignorance of other cultures, I'll watch Dances With Wolves or Pocahontas. When I want to see a kick-ass movie with awesome special effects, I'll see The Terminator or Aliens.
Not this piece of s#!t. Avatar makes me insanely angry.
Not only because FOX promoted the hell out of this film by subconsciously inserting it into every. damn. television show that was on at the time. Seriously, check out those episodes of Bones and Lie to Me that came out around Avatar's opening weekend. There's even a message on a movie marquee in the background telling viewers to see the damn film! (Thank God X-Files wasn't on.)
Not even because it's in 3-D...like that's f**kin' new!
It's because in order to achieve that damn distinction in the first place, Avatar needed 318 days...and two separate releases.
Exactly. What. The. Hell. That's just...
...because any movie,
don't care which one,
you can pick the movie.
ANY movie will make $760 million in the States if left in theaters long enough. Even if it takes decades.
So yeah - Avatar sucks.
And it doesn't matter anymore, because TFA is now at $812 million in the U.S. and at $921 million everywhere else. That's over $1.7 billion worldwide by the way...in 24 days.
So suck it James Cameron. You may have been "King of the World",
but Star Wars is King of the Galaxy baby!
