What is Singer doing?

In order to prove his point that Quicksilver will appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past, he posted this photo:

Here's the thing - the Maximoffs (who were given the infants Wanda and Pietro by the High Evolutionary in the comics)...

...were gypsies.

I always thought gypsies were tribes of people who essentially wandered through the countryside, not take up permanent residence and have mailboxes.

W...T...F...?

So my thinking is that this scene takes place in the same altered past where Stewart and McKellen appear.
