Monday Movie Roundup...7/18/2016

Okay Pepe, let's talk about the one everyone's talking about.
Ghostbusters (2016) took about $144 million to make. After opening weekend, it's made back $65.1 million worldwide with $46 million of it coming from the States. That makes it the 23rd top grossing Comedy Remake film in America - above 2010's Death at a Funeral ($42.7 million) and below The Preacher's Wife ($48.1 million). By the way, the top grossing Comedy Remake in American Cinema? The Longest Yard, at $158.1 million.
I can't believe it either. And for the record...
$295.2 million. Worldwide.

As for Finding Dory, it's at $721.7 million worldwide.
Not quite as good as Deadpool's $782 million,
but getting there.
Dory's also just $10 million away from taking Pixar Studios' #5 spot away from Up. Which can totally happen.

ID:R is at $337.7 million worldwide. It spent $165 million to make (which is $90 million more than Independence Day cost), but ID made $817.4 million worldwide. You'd think that after making that much, a sequel would have come out in less than 20 years. I wonder why...
...oh...

That's at $533.8 million worldwide.
It's Jennifer Lawrence's sixth top grossing film, behind all of the Hunger Games entries and X-Men: Days of Future Past. As for Nicholas Hoult, it's his second most profitable project...right behind X-M: DoFP. Michael Fassbender has it as his second also, right between X-M: DoFP and 300.
Yup. Fassbender was in that too.

And finally,
$1.151 billion worldwide.
Not quite as good as Iron Man 3,
but we'll take it.
Have a good week Pepe!
