A theory on Coulson’s “death”…

I gave my opinion that the plot of GotG will involve the Time Gem Stone earlier this week.

I also mentioned the speculation among fans that the item in Loki’s scepter was in fact the Mind Gem Stone.

We all know that Coulson was stabbed by Loki’s scepter.

Now bear with me: 

If we accept the theory that the scepter does contain Mind, then Coulson was killed by the Mind Gem Stone.

Therefore, it’s possible that Mind somehow prevented Coulson from dying.

Still with me?

However, according to an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., (“The Magical Place” to be exact), Coulson wanted to die. If that’s true, then the Mind Gem Stone should have theoretically let him die.

But it didn’t.

In fact, S.H.I.E.L.D. messed with Coulson’s brain to make him not want to die…

…meaning S.H.I.E.L.D. messed with Coulson’s mind.

So here’s my brilliant theory:

The scepter doesn’t have Mind.

It has Soul.

That would explain why Coulson didn’t die. The Soul Gem Stone kept Coulson’s soul within his body.

Leaving S.H.I.E.L.D. to deal with convincing his body to keep going.

It would also explain why we haven’t seen the scepter since The Avengers.

What? It’s possible…

Some thoughts on Infinity Stones and GotG...

So - we know the plot of Avengers 3...

...and we know some of the "Stones" already...

...and there's some speculation as to the third...

...(being the Mind "Stone").

We also know that GotG will push that storyline even further, but how?

Here's the official synopsis:

"...brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. Now, what could the orb be?

Why not the Time Gem "Stone"?

Used to power a space vessel, it could get you anywhere you wanted to go instantly.

Think about that.

What space-pirate/alien race/warrior species wouldn't want that power?

Now - assuming there's nothing "Stone"-related in Cap 2,

and Loki's scepter does contain the Mind Gem "Stone",

this will be Gem "Stone" #4.

Leaving Soul, and Reality.

Reality...

...that means warping everything we know into whatever the wielder desires...

...sort of a blending...

...of different "realities"...

...together...

Naw, that wouldn't happen...

...that couldn't happen...

...right?

Puck makes an appearance in The Infinity Gauntlet…by disappearing.

I have this issue.

Judd is among the heroes who have disappeared as Thanos attempts to woo Death.

Notes of Interest:

1) Judd’s disappearance isn’t depicted in this issue, but he’s shown on panel (and cover) as one of the many who have vanished.

WTF? Moment: If there was any single event that proved how Marvel viewed Alpha Flight and its many members, this was it. Not only was Judd written out of this story, but every single member of the team. Really, Starlin? You couldn’t have kept one Alphan around?
