Tim faces off against a small army of Howlers.
I have this issue.
Tim and Bruce are in the Batmobile following some thugs to a
drop, but they arrive to find both criminals eviscerated. Tim guesses that they
were victims of the Howler. They climb a warehouse, and see through the
skylight that Etrigan’s unconscious…surrounded by Howlers.
Using flares to blind the creatures, Tim follows Bruce in to
rescue The Demon. They try to escape but the ceiling explodes and they fall
back into the building.
Tim tries to wake Etrigan up but the Howlers quickly
surround them, leaving the Boy Wonder and Bruce to fight for their lives.
They get knocked to the ground when a woman shows up armed
to the teeth. She blasts the hell out of the Howlers, allowing all three men
time to wake up.
Tim regains consciousness and witnesses the woman cast some
type of spell that turns Etrigan into a normal man, who hugs and kisses her.
Not knowing what else to do, Tim and Bruce return to the
Batmobile.
Notes of Interest:
1) To my knowledge, this is the first time Tim
(unofficially) meets Jason Blood and Glenda Mark.
WTF? Moment: How
do Tim and Bruce know where the Howler went? One minute they’re standing over
the dead criminals, and the next time we see them they’re on the roof looking
into the warehouse. My guess is that they heard the Demon battling the
creatures nearby. Looked loud enough to me.
WTF? Moment #2: Writer
Alan Grant really needed to fill in some blanks. Why would Tim…or Bruce for
that matter…leave two dead bodies in an alley and an untold number of dead
bodies in a warehouse without at least
calling Gordon about it? I’ll assume they contacted GCPD from the Batmobile.
There’s no way Tim’s that irresponsible.
