First Impressions - Jessica Jones: "AKA WWJD"

Episode 8: "AKA WWJD"

The Good:

Gotta admit, Adorkette got this before I did.

Kilgrave buys Jessica's home and convinces her to live there with him. Why? Because while she was under his control, "home" was where she felt safe. And by doing what he does, he takes that away from her too.

That's one straight up f**ked up f**ker right there.

She had a brother who died.  That was a neat way to show that, but I have no idea how it relates to the books.

The Bad: I think the purple dress was overKill(grave).


The WTF?:

The whole "villain as hero" thing.

This was an interesting explanation of how the smallest things could make a given person go either way. There's an astounding amount of things Kilgrave could do to help people, but he needs Jessica to keep him on that path. 

Kinda makes you wonder who's really controlling whom, eh?

Adorkification Moment:

WHiH! Wish I knew what the letters stood for...

Well here's something I didn't know about Iron Man 3...

Marvel snuck a few things by me with this film, either because they went by too quick or (in this case) because I just plain didn't know.

I wondered why so much time was spent on this character...it's because her name is Ellen Brandt.

I thought she was sister to Betty Brant of Amazing Spider-Man fame (which she isn't), but it turns out Ellen has a connection to another Marvel classic...

...she was Ted Sallis' wife, who betrayed his work to A.I.M. right before Sallis injected himself with the stuff that turned him into the Man-Thing.

Making things even cooler is the fact that the scars on Ellen's face (and most likely the rest of her injuries) were caused by the Man-Thing in the first place!!!

See - that's how Marvel Studios does it.

I'm sure there's some tidbits of goodness in Man of Steel...but on this level?

Spoiler/Batgirl in new Web show...maybe

This is a trailer for a web-based series hopeful featuring Stephanie Brown as Batgirl.

I know Steph from her first appearances as Spoiler in the Robin ongoing series, and think she never should have become Robin or Batgirl...but this isn't bad, except for the fight choreography, which needs work. The cameos at the end were cool too.

Did you catch the names Tony Zucco and Carl Grissom? That's damned impressive to include!
