Post-poned...or why I missed posting last week

Mrs. Adorkification's father passed away.

I really can't go into it right now, but he'd been sick for a while. It wasn't a surprise. and it wasn't a shock.

Adorkette and I visited him the morning before, and my wife was with him (along with Mrs. Adorkification's mother of course) at the end. The funeral was Saturday.

I'm sure I'll talk about my relationship with him at some point, but for now let me say this: I couldn't have asked for a better father-in-law.

We're still dealing with things and stuff, so I won't be posting anything else the rest of the week.

Life happens. The hard part, is living it.

Maybe it's the weather, the "First Impressions" reviews, or effin' work, but I'm wiped. How wiped am I?

Mrs. Adorkification and I have only seen up to Episode 10 - which I have yet to review.

I know Jean-Luc, I know. 

Which is why I'm slowing things down.

I'll still be doing the Monday Movie Reviews, 

and the WTF? Fridays,

and I will be finishing the Daredevil series...eventually...

...but I won't be posting daily through the summer. 

Easy Conan, it's not the end of the world.

I plan on continuing the "Character Reviews", which seem pretty popular,

aaand I've got a couple other things up my sleeve.

So keep checking back, because aside from Mondays and Fridays, my posts will be sporadic at best.

 Well, it's my Sunday at work and there's a lot of - you know - 

so I'm busy all day. Which sucks.

As much as we've gotten in the past two weeks, I still prefer this over hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, tsunamis, volcanoes and the rest.

Today is insane!!!

I've got to open at work this morning, and have a lot of chores facing me when I get home. This sucks!

Funny thing happened on the way to the blog...

...our router died.

To be fair, it was the same router we've had for over five years, so it was due.

Mrs. Adorkification works from home, via computer, so we had to spend yesterday getting a new one.

Not a big deal, but I had to work afterwards, so I never got a chance to post yesterday.

It's Saturday...and I've got nothin'

Sorry guys, but I;m in the middle of an eight-day stretch and fighting a head cold.

But I did hear that Thor: The Dark World will be released on Blu-ray/DVD February 25th...

...so there's that...

...uhh...

I'd love to talk about such things as what movies I caught on Netflix over the summer (Dredd, Solomon Kane) or what Adorkette and I have seen (Batman: The Animated Series), but with summer finally over, the humidity finally dropping and the kid finally back at school...not to mention my never-ending work shifts...I can barely find my face right now. But I will say this...

...Squirrel Girl is now a playable character in Marvel: Avengers Alliance.
That's right...Squirrel Girl.
What's next? Darkhawk? Sleepwalker?
Actually, Sleepwalker might be kinda cool...

...so I'm heading outside. Yeah, there's yard work and stuff to do, but it's a nice day weather-wise to do it in.

...due to computers.

My computer (using Vista...I know...) died. And continued to die roughly ten minutes after I started it back up (...I know...).

So I've just finished "upgrading" it to XP, and will spend the night re-loading all the stuff I use.

That is, if the kids around us stealing bandwidth will let me...I KNOW!!!

I closed at work last night, followed by opening this morning.

Ugh...

Honestly, I have no idea what to talk about...

There's stuff I want to talk about:
* an update on X-Men: Days of Future Past
* continuing Tim Drake's activities during the War of the Gods story
* comparing Marvel Ultimate Alliance to Avengers Alliance
* another Adork(ification) movie review
* Valentine's Day
but I'm short for time today because of all the things I have to do that take me away from the fun stuff.
