Morning Pepe!
After finishing Luke Cage over the weekend, I wanted to look forward to Marvel's Next Big Thing...
...out 11/4/16.
Now I don't expect there to be anything in the film to connect with the Netflix stuff...yet. But since there is a strong connection between Steven Strange and the Defenders (as in, he co-founded the group in the comics) I hope I'm wrong. Making things even stranger,
(sigh)
it was announced at NYCC that Sigourney Weaver is the Big Bad in the Defenders show (series? movie? event? I'm not sure what to call these things.). And since everyone's guessing who she'll play, here's mine:
Umar.
Getting back to Doctor Strange,
aside from his work on The Hobbit, Benedict Cumberbatch's highest grossing project was Star Trek Into Darkness, at $467.4 million worldwide.
Marvel Studios has made 13 films so far (in less than 10 years by the way).
Only three (Thor, Captain America: The First Avenger and The Incredible Hulk) have made less than that.
Another tidbit of info - Avengers, Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3 and Captain America: Civil War have each made $1.15 billion or more worldwide...which none of the Middle Earth films did.
So this could easily become Benedict's (at least third) highest grossing film. Which would be cool.
Have a good week Pepe!
